Water for riches?

It seems far fetched, to think of water for riches, but it plays a very important role. Water, if not at the right place in your home, can play havoc in your life, and if at the right place can lead you to fortune. 

First let us look at the right places. Water in any form is good in north, northeast and east. It can be an under ground tank, swimming pool or pond. It can be a tap, well, running water or a small spring. If it is running water, make sure it is in these directions only. Any birdbath or water contained in pot is also auspicious, but make sure it is changed every day.

Same water kept in any form in south, southeast or southwest is bad. Water kept south east or next to fire is bad. How ever water kept in an overhead tank is good. 

Any leaking tap is no good. That means your wealth is leak You will do well to stop this leak at the earliest. If leaking is bad, accumulation of water is worse. That means wealth has stopped flowing up to you.

Don't keep these things ever

Do you like Taj Mahal? So do I. It is a magnificent building, so beautiful to look at. But we should not buy it or receive it as a gift. It is a symbol of death and passivity. It is a grave. And graves don't belong at home.

Thorny plants or the ones that give sticky substance like cactus should not be kept at home. Even bonsai plants should not be kept as it gives a feeling of restriction.

Artificial flowers are very good to look at. But these don't belong to home, for the simple reason they are dead. There is no life in them. For the same reason we don't keep wilted or dried up flowers. One should adorn the house with fresh flowers only.

Never keep pictures or images of ferocious animals or snakes. Such animals are wild, jungle creatures. They don't belong to home environment. Also avoidable are the giants or a thing which evokes fear. So if you want peace full and loving atmosphere at home, you keep domestic animals or their pictures.

Don't keep broken or unserviceable equipment at home. Your house is not a junkyard. Either get the unserviceable item repaired or garbage them. You should also garbage broken, cracked glass or chipped China.

Image of dancing ‘Nataraj’ should never be kept in home. Some say it symbolizes a great art form. So why, it should not be in the house? Because essentially it's lord shiva's 'tandav' or dance of destruction. And that's the reason we don't keep any destructive or war pictures.

Are your plants healthy?

Are your plants healthy?

Health of plants in your home is an indication of how well you are doing in life. If plants are healthy and well cared for, that means the owner has time, is house-proud and he has is generally happy. And who's the person who's plants are weak and uncared for?

Plants, apart from beautifying a place and providing a health environment, are very important in Vastu. Some plants are auspicious and some are not suitable for keeping in the house. Let's talk about the auspicious plants first.

Money plant is considered to bring wealth. Make sure the creeper is going up not down. Also it should not be climbing on the walls.

‘Tulsi’ plant is considered very auspicious. It has got number of medicinal properties. Keep it in the Northeast so that it absorbs plenty of magnetic energies. Also make sure it is getting lots of air and sunshine.

'Harshringar' is another plant, which should be kept in the garden. It gives beautiful flowers in the morning. Other plants, which give beautiful and sweet smelling flowers, should also be part of your garden.

Palm plant is considered very good for absorbing dirty energy and giving positive energy. That is why it's recommended to be kept as a remedy, if you have a washroom in North East. But make sure you move the plant every week, otherwise it will die. It's best to have two palm plants so you can rotate them.

Rose is a very beautiful flower, but it should not be kept in the house as it contains thorns. In fact any plant that has thorns in it has no place in the house.

Cactus and similar plants should be avoided, for these contain not only thorns but also secrete ugly, sticky and milky substance. Bonsai should never be kept in the house for a different reason. Though it looks pretty but it gives the feeling of being restricted. You don't want to be restricted, why should your plants be?

What do you do with one day worn clothes?

Most of us are in the habit of throwing one day worn clothes on the floor or hang on the bedroom door. That's so wrong. That means dirty energy in our bedroom and spread in our sanctuary? There should be a basket for dirty clothes and that should kept in the west corner. If it is not possible to change your night clothes everyday, keep them in the bathroom.

Similarly, all our bed linen should be regularly washed. Don't allow it to get dirty. You don't want to sleep in soiled sheets. Same goes for your upholstery. You should not even keep any worn out or torn items in your home. Replacing them is cheaper in long run.

Heavy drapery is meant for south and western side. Keep only the light ones for north and east. And again, same rule applies, wash them as soon as these are dirty.

Don't have wall-to-wall carpeting. It accumulates dirt and absorbs dirty energy. Instead keep small rugs and foot mats. Also don’t forget to vacuum them regularly.

Do you keep god's pictures in your wallet?

Many people keep god's pictures in their wallets, thinking with god in their wallet, every thing will be all right. The money will grow. Unfortunately this is incorrect. God's is in your heart, why should you keep it in a lather wallet? Then it goes with you everywhere, even in a washroom. Instead keep a symbol, like 'swastik' in your wallet.

Similarly many people keep 'yantras' in wallets. Even that is wrong. Instead keep yellow turmeric in your wallet. This will keep your wallet full of currency notes.

When you get currency notes, don't keep them haphazardly. Keep them properly. This will increase your wealth.
